Do you ever find it hard to love in a relationship?
I know I do. Relationships — whether with family, a partner, or even ourselves — can feel both rewarding and painful. Sometimes, they can brighten our days and warm our hearts, yet at times also leave us feeling anxious, alone, or frustrated. If this resonates with you, I want you to know that you are not alone, and I am here to help.
I grew up in a family grounded in traditional Asian values, where caring deeply for others often meant putting our own feelings aside. Over time, I realized how difficult it can be to notice and express my own emotions while worrying about how others might see or feel about me. This invisible distance, created in the name of love, left me feeling anxious and uncomfortable, but also deeply curious about why I am the way I am.
I support parents in learning how to show up as more conscious, attuned caregivers, while still making room for their own emotional needs. I also help families and adult children untangle intergenerational patterns, so they can relate to one another with greater clarity, compassion, and intention.
Why Work with me
I am inherently interested in how our emotions shape the way we connect with others. That’s why my work is rooted in attachment-based approaches such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I’ve completed extensive training in EFT for individuals (EFIT), couples (EFCT), and families (EFFT Levels 1 & 2), which helps me support clients in navigating complex emotional and relational patterns—especially within Relational dynamics like families/Couples.
Whether you’re a parent struggling to stay calm and connected, a couple feeling stuck in the same conflict, or part of a family working through tension, I offer a space where we can gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface and begin to shift long-standing patterns. Through this work, you can:
Learn to respond to your children with more emotional awareness and intention
Repair patterns of disconnection and build emotional trust within your family
Break free from intergenerational messaging that no longer serves you
Strengthen your connection with yourself, so you can show up more fully with others
Rebuild emotional safety and closeness in your relationship
Together, we’ll create space for your relationships to feel more grounded, attuned, and emotionally safe.
What to Expect
I like to think of therapy as a journey we walk together. I’m not in front of you telling you where to go, and I’m not behind you asking you to lead me. Instead, I walk beside you as we explore, reflect, and experiment with new ways of understanding and connecting with yourself and others.
In our work together, you can expect:
Collaboration, not direction – We move at your pace, exploring what feels important to you.
Depth over quick fixes – I don’t believe in forcing change before you’re ready. Instead, I focus on creating sustainable changes that can carry on outside the therapy room.
Compassion and curiosity – When I say “this space is safe,” I mean that whatever feels heavy, confusing, or stuck will be met with curiosity, rather than judgment
Beyond the Couch: Personal Highlights
Big-time food lover (possibly too much!)
Tennis enthusiast — when it’s not freezing
Musical theatre fan (I even had a podcast about it during COVID)
Naturally quiet and low-key in social settings
Recently got into birdwatching — I’ve been waking up at 6 a.m. hoping to spot an owl (no luck yet, but still trying!)
